January 2012

The January edition reaches you a little late this year due to the Christmas and New Year but to make up for it we have a super bumper edition full of articles and comments for you to enjoy.

From further privatisation of the NHS to the hopes of our Olympic Athletes, UK NEWS will be covering all that looks set to make the UK press in the year to come. We look at reforming the UK Adoption system, the extradition of a Sheffield student to the US and consider the new National Stalking Clinic. Can we realistically look to treat stalkers before they even offend?

FEATURES is looking at issues relating to Sex and Gender: Are post-colonial trends of Orientalism sustaining the Thai pornography industry abroad? Is sexual discrimination still commonplace in the UK workplace? Are cosmetic procedures to female genitals a revolution of a process previously seen only as mutilation?

An in-depth look at the beginning of the US Presidential Elections starts us off in WORLD NEWS this year, with coverage of a Caucus in Iowa and a Primary in New Hampshire. We also look at recent improvements in UK-Burmese relations, changes in the constitution of Hungary and Cameron’s controversial European veto, plus much, much more…
